Detectives from the Montgomery County Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating a fatal collision that occurred Wednesday afternoon in Silver Spring - the second such occurrence in the last two days.
Detectives from the Montgomery County Police – Major Crimes Division have arrested and charged a suspect for the robbery of the Capital One bank in Olney that occurred on February 20.
Michael Williamson, age 29, of the 3300 block of Buehler Court in Olney, was arrested on the evening of February 20 and charged with one count of armed robbery.
On February 20 at approximately , officers responded to the Capital One bank located at 18104 Town Center Drive in Olney for the report of a bank robbery. Investigation revealed that the male suspect, later identified as Williamson, entered the bank and passed a note to the teller. The note demanded money and implied that the suspect had a gun. The suspect received cash and exited the bank.
Robbery investigators disseminated a bank surveillance photograph of the suspect to officers. An officer contacted investigators and identified the suspect as Williamson. At approximately , officers patrolling the downtown Wheaton area notified officers that they had just arrested a suspect, identified as Williamson, for possession of marijuana. During a search incident to arrest, officers located cash in Williamson’s pants pocket; that cash was identified as proceeds from the bank robbery. Officers also located a knit cap on Williamson, which was similar to the cap worn by the suspect in the bank robbery.
During questioning, Williamson admitted to committing the bank robbery. He was transported to the Central Processing Unit and is being held on $75,000 bond.
Detectives from the Montgomery County Police-Major Crimes Division have charged Brian Patrick O’ Callaghan, age 36, of the 25200 block of Conrad Court in Damascus, with first degree murder and child abuse resulting in death. The victim, Hyunsu O’Callaghan, is Brian O’ Callaghan’s adopted three-year-old son.
Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department-Major Crimes Division continue to investigate a bank robbery that occurred February 12 at a HSBC bank in Bethesda. Detectives released surveillance photographs of the suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.
STERLING, Va. — U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Office of Field Operations (OFO) at Washington Dulles International Airport seized $23,800 from a Guinean citizen Sunday for violating federal currency reporting regulations.
The woman, who arrived on a flight from South Africa, repeatedly declared possessing only $6,000. While examining the passenger’s luggage, CBP officers discovered a pocketbook and two envelopes containing $23,800. CBP officers seized the $23,800 and advised the traveler how to petition for the return of her currency.
