Montgomery Village Farmer's market opens soon

MONTGOMERY VILLAGE (www.montgomeryvillage.com) – Fresh quality produce will be available again soon in Montgomery Village. Once again, the first Saturday of June is arriving, and this means one thing, the Montgomery Village Farmers’ Market, located at Christ the Servant Lutheran Church (9801 Centerway Road), is back for its third season. On Saturday, June 1 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. come enjoy this unique market feel while supporting our local vendors.

Make an early appearance, as redeemable coupons will be available for an exclusive market wine bag sponsored by Linganore Winecellars. This coupon giveaway will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Also, experience Montgomery Village Foundation President Bob Hydorn’s opening announcement, as well as hear classic farm tunes performed by the Montgomery Village Community Band. This year shoppers will be given a chance to win baskets with products from our market vendors, receive cooking tips from local chef cooking demonstrations and submit their best market pictures to appear in a gallery on the market website, www.mvfarmersmarket.com.

Also new this year will be MVFM’s Chop and Share Exhibition, which will give area chefs the chance to show their skills as they demonstrate how to prepare, jar, preserve and cook seasonal items. Shoppers will be able to take these newly learned techniques and recipes back to their homes and replicate them. Opportunities to participate in MVFM’s Chop and Share are available. To fill out an application, visit www.mvfarmersmarket.com/events.

The Montgomery Village Farmers Market will feature 17 market vendors ranging from produce to chocolate. So, come out on Saturday, June 1 and support the community and our local economy as you enjoy one of many sights and sounds that help Montgomery Village flourish.
