GREENSBORO, N.C. – Senior Alyssa Thomas was voted to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference First Team for the third straight year and Lexie Brown was voted to the All-ACC Freshman Team by the league’s 15 head coaches Monday.
Starting in 2013, the league separated the coaches and Blue Ribbon Panels votes into separate awards. The Blue Ribbon Panel is made up of school representatives and national and local media. The awards from the Blue Ribbon Panel were released last week.
Thomas is the third player in Maryland history to earn All-ACC honors in each of her four years, following Crystal Langhorne and Marissa Coleman. She made the Second Team as the league’s Freshman of the Year in 2010 and has been on the First Team ever since as the league’s Player of the Year as a sophomore and junior.
