Johnny Unitas Stadium on the Towson University campus is the site of Friday’s game between two of the state’s top-ranked teams.

Malik Harris, a two-sport star at Churchill, has left the Potomac public school and enrolled at Friendship Collegiate Academy in Washington, D.C. where he is expected to start at linebacker for the public charter school’s nationally renown football team.

The 5-foot-11, 200-pound running back said he chose Western Michigan over offers from Ohio, Old Dominion, Toledo and Miami (OH) because the Mid-American Conference program is “on the rise.”
“Their recruiting class is rated number 25 – that’s crazy,” Ekwoge said about the Football Bowl Subdivision program that saw seven high school student-athletes commit last week alone.
Ekwoge made an unofficial visit to the Western Michigan campus last Thursday before verbally committing the next day.
“The visit was great,” said Ekwoge. “It was much better than I expected.”
